St Bart’s Cafe Celebrates National Coffee Break Day

While marking their Centennial in 2011, The National Coffee Association started an annual National Coffee Break Day (January 20), as a celebration of coffee and its timeless place in our lives.

The “coffee break” is an American tradition that has become part of our cultural fabric and heritage. From its start in the 1880’s among working housewives in Stoughton, Wisconsin, the coffee break has allowed employees time to step away from their work to recharge over a cup of coffee. A welcome pause from the workday, the coffee break helps workers relax, interact, and become more productive and motivated.

In honor of National Coffee Break Day, St Bart’s Coffee Company is offering customers who check in on Facebook, Google Places or Yelp a complimentary coffee refill, so they may enjoy a little longer “coffee break” the way history teaches us – by pausing to bond with colleagues, friends and family over a cup of coffee at least once a day.
